RECAP: It seems the days of the Toronto Raptors being the stepping stone team for the rest of the NBA are over. Head Coach Jay Triano, in the 2nd year of a 3 year deal, was hoping to resign Franchise Forward Chris Bosh, but Bosh chose the sands of Miami and the team seems to have profited from the transaction. The Raptors received two first-round draft picks and a trade exception from Miami. Forward Hedo Turkoglu, who was less than pleased with his role last season, was traded to the Suns for Leandro Barbosa and Dwayne Jones. Free agents signed were Amir Johnson and Linas Kleiza. Also coming to the Raptors this season is center David Anderson, traded from Houston for a 2nd round draft pick and cash.

After going 5-0 in the NBA Summer League, the team is feeling much better about themselves and their prospects for the upcoming season. "We're not tanking. We're assessing a few options and looking for the right pieces to move forward," Raptors President Bryan Colangelo told season ticket-holders that while the 2010-11 edition might be young, he fully expects it to be competitive in the Eastern Conference.
