History: Originally dubbed the California Raisin Bowl in 1981 and played in Fresno, California until it was reorganized in 1992 and moved to Las Vegas whereupon it was renamed the Las Vegas Bowl. In 2001, SEGA Sports took over the sponsorship for two seasons then sponsorship was taken over by Pioneer Pure Vision for three seasons. In 2009, Maaco took over and ever since it has been named the Maaco Las Vegas Bowl.
