History: One of a group of the 2nd oldest bowl games behind the Rose Bowl. The event has been played annually since January 1, 1935 with the University of Oklahoma making the most appearances with 18 (12-6). The 2011 matchup featured the high powered offense of Virginia Tech against the Stanford Cardinals. The Hokies took the game 40-12 and walked off the Orange Bowl Champions.
