Milwaukee Bucks Information

SEASON RECORD: 49-33 (0.598)
STATUS: 1st in Central

RECAP: Herb Kohl, the owner of the Milwaukee Bucks has made it very clear that he wants to put a team on the court that will be able to compete with the big boys of the NBA. Coach Scott Skiles couldn't be happier. The first big drop was the signing of SF Corey Maggette to a 3-year $31-million contract then went out and re-signed SF John Salmons to a 5-year deal worth close to $43 million. The final piece of the spending spree went to F/C Drew Gooden who inked a 5-year $32 million contract. F Jon Brockman also signed on with the Bucks after playing for the Kings last season.

The draft was a hit, hit, miss situation. With the 15th overall selection, the Bucks selected PF Larry Sanders and coach Skiles thinks he may get some minutes in the regular season. The second selection was for G Darington Hobson, the 37th overall pick. The franchise is well impressed with Hobson whom they say can play the 1, 2 or 3 spot. The third pick was on 6'9" 302 lb PF Keith "Tiny" Gallon. Gallon came into the Chicago pre-draft camp with 15.1% body fat and in the Las Vegas Summer League, coach Skiles was less than impressed.

So, with a starting lineup of Brandon Jennings, John Salmons, Corey Maggette, Drew Gooden and Andrew Bogut at center, look for you Milwaukee Bucks to make some noise in the Central Division.
