Recap: The Rockies are riding high this season and much of it has to do with the Rockies RHP Ubaldo Jimenez who pitched the franchise’s first No-hitter on April 17, 2010. Jimenez has started 18 games and the team is 16-2 when he has and is just 3-games shy of breaking the club record for victories (17 by both Kevin Ritz in 1996 and Pedro Astacio in 1999).
The team is attempting to make the postseason for the second consecutive year which would be a first in franchise history but will have to deal with a number of injuries to key players to include 1B Todd Helton, SS Troy Tulowitzki, RHP Matt Daley, RHP Taylor Buchholz and 2b/OF Eric Young Jr.
The team also has to deal with off field issues to include the death of Keli McGregor, President of the team, who was found dead on April 20, 2010.
Look for Rockies 1B Todd Helton to be activated by the team and off the DL soon.
