Recap: The Denver Nuggets opened the 2008/09 season hoping to sell a lot of tickets with Superstars Carmelo Anthony and Allen Iverson on the roster but on November 3, 2008, in an attempt to reduce their payroll, the Nuggets traded Iverson to Detroit for Chauncey Billups, Antonio Mcdyess and Cheikh Samb. The starting lineup for the Nuggets now consists of Billups, Carmelo Anthony, Nené, JR Smith and Kenyon Martin. All great players but none that can play the type of defense it will take to win an NBA Title. Don’t look for the Nuggets to go too far into the playoffs with defensive minded teams like the Lakers, Rockets, Hornets and Spurs in their conference.
