RECORD: 13-38 (.255)
STATUS: 22½ games behind, 5th place in Pacific Division
RECAP: After failing to win a bid in the playoffs last season, Head Coach Paul Westphal has confidence that his young team will compete for a spot this season. The big reason for that confidence is the franchises’ first round draft selection, Kentucky Center DeMarcus Cousins who was named the T-Mobile Rookie of the Month in the Las Vegas NBA Summer League where he averaged 16.2 ppg and 10.6 rpg. The team also has high hopes for Hassan Whiteside, a 7-foot center who blocked 5.4 shots a game in 2010, his only college season. Two trades were pulled off over the summer, one sending C Samuel Dalembert to Philadelphia for Andres Nocini and Spencer Hawes and four days later, sent Jon Brockman to the Bucks in exchange for Darnell Jackson and a 2011 second round draft pick. The team also signed free agents G Pooh Jeter and F Antoine Wright.
Look for your Sacramento Kings to greatly improve in the upcoming season and compete for a spot in the 2010/11 NBA Playoffs.
