CURRENT SEASON – 2008/09
Record (as of Jan 6, 2008) 7-25 (.219)
15th Place in the Eastern Conference
Recap: The 2008/09 season looked much brighter than the 2007/08 campaign as the Wizards were hoping to get major components back from injury (Gilbert Arenas-knee and Ethan Thomas heart surgery). But things have gotten worse as Arenas is out with yet another knee surgery (proactive at that) that has him out indefinitely, Brendan Haywood, out with right wrist surgery and DeShawn Stevenson who is out indefinitely with low disk pain. Coming out of the gate with a 1-10 record, Coach Eddie Jordan was fired and assistant Ed Tapscott has taken the reigns. One bright spot is that the Wizards continue to have a fan base as they are ranked 16th in the league in ticket sales.
