2011 Season Outlook: The Bills are making moves but few pundits feel they are anywhere near the right ones. It shouldn't be hard to improve on a 4-12 record, but without the offense stepping up to play on a whole other level, they may just not be able to.
Recap: There were many expectations from Buffalo Bills’ fans about the signing of Terrell Owens, but the rest of the NFL failed to hold its breath. When the team finished with a 6-10, little were surprised. To make matters worse, Head Coach Dick Jauron was fired mid-November and was replaced by his defensive coordinator. Former Dallas Head Coach Chan Gailey was hired and introduced as the new Bills Head Coach on January 19th.
There are needs on both ends of the ball but the quarterback position seems to be the direst. Trent Edwards lost headway from the season prior and was benched with 7 games left on the schedule in favor of Ryan Fitzpatrick. Now a lot of the blame goes to the offensive line which is also in desperate need of repair. After upgrading the interior line, the team needs to do the same with the exterior. Both Kirk Chambers and Jonathan Scott should be backups not starting.
With the Bills also transitioning into the 3-4 defense, the team will also need to find an outside linebacker to help Aaron Maybin, who was less than stellar in 2009.
